Online Registration

If I will not attend the Graduation ceremony, do I need to inform the University?

Yes, please inform the University by completing the Online Registration on or before the deadline for registration.

If I do not complete the Online Registration procedures by the specified dates, will there be any further arrangements for me?

If you fail to complete the Online Registration procedures, we shall assume that you will NOT attend the Graduation Ceremony, and no admission ticket or guest ticket will be provided.

Are there any admission rules for graduates?

The graduation ceremony is a formal and solemn occasion to celebrate the successful completion of your studies at the university. Please observe the Rules for attending the ceremony.

Award Certificate

When can I collect my award certificate?

For graduates who are approved to graduate with the Graduation Date as of 31 August (8-31), you or your authorized person/by self-paid courier services can collect the award certificate in person at the Tai Po campus on 3 to 5 October 2024. For graduands who are approved to graduate with the Graduation Date as of 31 October (10-31), you or your authorized person/by self-paid courier services can collect the award certificate in person at the Tai Po campus on 8 to 9 November 2024. For 31 March (3-31) & 31 July (7-31) graduates, your award certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person at the Student Records Service Desk of the Information Centre (A-G/F-11, CKCF Building (Block A), Tai Po Campus) during official opening hours starting from 12 August 2024 (after 2 p.m.).

I missed the deadline for the collection of the award certificate, what should I do?

For 3-31 & 7-31 graduates who are not available to collect the award certificate in the stipulated period, your award certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person at the Student Records Service Desk of the Information Centre (A-G/F-11, CKCF Building (Block A), Tai Po Campus) starting from 12 August 2024 (after 2 p.m.). For 8-31 graduates who are not available to collect the award certificate in the stipulated period, your award certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person at the Student Records Service Desk of the Information Centre (A-G/F-11, CKCF Building (Block A), Tai Po Campus) starting from 7 October 2024 (after 2 p.m.). Please visit our webpage for the collection of award certificate arrangements.

For 10-31 graduands who are not available to collect the award certificate in the stipulated period, your award certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person at the Student Records Service Desk of the Information Centre (A-G/F-11, CKCF Building (Block A), Tai Po Campus) starting from 11 November 2024 (after 2 p.m.). I am not in Hong Kong and cannot authorize anyone to collect my award certificate at the Tai Po campus, can I request to collect my award certificate by post?

Posting services with charges will only be provided for graduates with non-Hong Kong addresses. Graduates are required to submit their request with their full name and student number to the Registry by email to gc@eduhk.hk. Please note that delivery services will be provided upon receipt of full postal payment (except for pay on delivery) and will only be processed after the designated collection period.

Academic Dress

If I attend the graduation ceremony, do I need to wear a full set of Academic Dress?

All graduates attending the Graduation Ceremony are required to refer to the Dress Code and wear the full set of academic dress on-site, including the correct Subject Discipline Hood Colour of your programme. Graduates in unfull or incorrect academic dress or with the wrong subject discipline hood colour WILL NOT be allowed to enter the Arena and will be arranged to sit separately to watch broadcasts. Please refer to the Colour of Gown and Hoods posted on the University's Graduation Ceremony website.

What is a full set of academic dress?

Based on the designated academic dress of the programme, a full set of academic dress consists of a gown, a hood (if applicable) and a mortarboard/bonnet (if applicable). Please refer to this page for the details of the academic dress for respective programmes.

When and where can I rent my academic dress?

What should I do if I cannot come in person to collect my academic dress?

Please ask your representative to bring along the Rental Slip/ Waiver of Rental Fee of Academic Dress Voucher* and two copies of the Gown Rental & Deposit Form (you must make an online reservation in advance for the rental of academic dress at the University's designated supplier (Victoria Uniform) to collect the items on your behalf. For details, please refer to this page.

*The rental slip or voucher is enclosed with the Rental of Academic Dress letter issued to graduands in July 2024.

Do I need to pay for my academic dress?

Do I need to present the TRUE copy of Rental Slip/ Waiver of Rental Fee of Academic Dress Voucher during my collection of Academic Dress?

When collecting the academic dress, you MUST present the TRUE copy of the rental slip/voucher stamped with the official chop of the University to Victoria Uniform. A rental slip/voucher without the official chop of EdUHK will be regarded as invalid. Please note that a photocopy or digital copy of this rental slip/voucher will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The rental slip or voucher is enclosed with the Rental of Academic Dress letter, if you do not receive the letter by 15 August 2024, please write to the Registry (gc@eduhk.hk) for make-up arrangements.

If the academic dress does not fit me, can I change it?

No change of size will be arranged once the academic dress is collected from the University's designated supplier, Victoria Uniform. Graduates can choose the size of academic dress at the business outlet of Victoria Uniform. Please refer to the Victoria Uniform's website for details.

If I have forgotten to collect my academic dress, are there any make-up arrangements on campus?

The University WILL NOT provide any academic dress to any graduates on campus. Please visit our webpage for the ‘Rental of Academic Dress’ arrangements.

When should I return the academic dress, and can I apply for a late return?

You are required to return the academic dress to the University's designated supplier, Victoria Uniform, within the first rental period, i.e. 180 days.
