Return of Academic Dress

  1. Graduands are required to return academic dress to the same outlet where the items are collected. The first rental period is on a 180-day basis that will be counted from the first day of collection of academic dress at the business outlet of the University’s designated supplier, Victoria Uniform (VU). (E.g. If you collect the academic dress on 1 November 2024, the date of your return of academic dress will be on or before 29 April 2025.)
  2. The exact due date of returning academic dress is stipulated/marked in the ‘Gown Rental & Deposit’ form (‘Return Date’). You are required to print two duplicated copies, one to be presented when collecting the academic dress and one to be presented when returning the academic dress at the business outlet of VU.
  3. Graduands MUST present the ‘Gown Rental & Deposit’ form together with the complete set of academic dress to the same business outlet of VU where the academic dress is collected. A full refund of deposit will be returned to you provided that the items are returned in proper condition and within the first 180-day rental period. Otherwise, penalty will be charged. For details of the charges of each item, please click here.
  4. Deposit is refundable only when the rental items are returned in proper condition within the first 180-day rental period. If any item is returned beyond this 180-day rental period, an extension fee on the basis of 7 days will be charged, i.e., if the actual extension period is less than 7 days, the extension fee will still be charged for 7 days.
  5. Please note that a long queue for return of academic dress may exist on weekday evenings owing to the high turnover rate of users.
