Return of Academic Dress


  1. Graduates can return the academic dress to any business outlets of the University’s designated supplier Tick Your Gown Limited (TYG) or the TYG 24-hour return booth. The first rental period is on a 180-day basis which is counted from the first day the academic dress is collected from the TYG’s business outlet. (E.g. If you collect the academic dress on 1 November 2026, the due date for return will be on or before 29 April 2027.)
  2. Graduates MUST present the Gown Rental Confirmation email together with the complete set of acaemic dress to the business outlet of TYG.

    Or

    Graduates MUST complete the return form if they return the academic dress via TYG 24-hour return booth. Please follow the instructions printed at the booth accordingly.

    The full deposit amount will be refunded to you provided that all the items are returned in proper condition and within the first 180-day rental period. Otherwise, a penalty will be charged. For details of the charges for each item, please click here.
  3. Deposit is refundable only when all the rental items are returned in proper condition within the first 180-day rental period. If any item is returned beyond this 180-day rental period, an extension fee on the basis of 7 days will be charged, i.e., if the actual extension period is less than 7 days, the extension fee will still be charged for 7 days.
  4. Please note the opening hours of the outlets for the return of academic dress according to the information on the TYG website.
