Registration

If I will not attend the Graduation ceremony, do I need to inform the University?

Yes, please inform the University by completing the Online Registration on or before the deadline for registration.

If I do not complete the Online Registration procedures during the specified dates, would there be any further arrangement for me?

If you fail to complete the Online Registration procedures, we shall assume that you will NOT attend the Graduation ceremony, and no admission ticket and guest tickets will be provided.

Are there any admission rules for graduates?

The Graduation Ceremony is a formal and solemn occasion to celebrate your completion of studies at the University successfully. Please observe the Rules for attending the ceremony.

Award Certificate

When can I collect my award certificate?

Under the special arrangement during the pandemic, your award certificate will be delivered by courier / registered mail free of charge specially this year.

For graduates with Graduation Date of 31 March 2022 or 31 August 2022
Delivery of award certificates by post will be free of charge should you have completed online registration within the period between 13 September to 4 October 2022 (both dates inclusive).

For graduates with Graduation Date of 31 October 2022
Delivery of award certificates by post will be free of charge should you have completed online registration within the period between 7 October to 23 October 2022 (both dates inclusive).

It is important that you would provide us with an up-to-date mailing address when completing the Online Registration on or before the stipulated deadline listed above. Late registration after deadline will not be entertained. Please click here and read carefully for the details of the collection of award certificates by post.

I missed the deadline of the online registration for the collection of award certificate by post, what should I do?

For those who missed the deadline and would still need to receive your certificate by post, you must write to Registry by email to gc@eduhk.hk with your full name, student number and corresponding programme code/ title for special arrangement.

When can I collect my award certificate in person?

You could start to collect your certificate either in person or by an authorized person (authorization form) from our Information Centre, (Room A-G/F-11, CKCF Building (Block A), Tai Po) during office hours from 6 January 2023 by appointment.

To request for such an arrangement, graduates should write to Registry by email to gc@eduhk.hk with their full name, student number, the corresponding programme code/ title and a designated collection date (from 6 Jan 2023 onwards) and time in advance.

The confirmed collection time range and the details of the required supporting documents upon collecting the certificate in person/ by an authorized person will be specified in our reply to your request.

Please be reminded that upon collection of the certificate from our Tai Po campus during the confirmed time range, you or your authorized person must:

  1. PRESENT the confirmation email from Registry for inspection at the entry; and
  2. USE the "LeaveHomeSafe" Mobile App and PRESENT the blue QR code with either Electronic Vaccination Record / Exemption Certificate for inspection at the campus entry according to the University's latest health and safety precautionary measures. Please refer to the Estates Office's latest announcement of "Latest "Vaccine pass" Arrangement for Campus Entry" (https://www.eduhk.hk/eo/info_news.htm) for details.

Academic Dress

If I attend the graduation ceremony, do I need to wear a full set of Academic Dress?

All graduates attending the face-to-face Graduation Ceremony are required to refer to the Dress Code and wear the full set of academic dress on-site including the correct Subject Discipline Colour of your programme/hood. Graduates not in full or incorrect academic dress or in wrong subject discipline colour WILL NOT be allowed to enter the Arena and will be arranged to seat separately to watch broadcasts. Please refer to Colour of Gown and Hoods posted on the University's Graduation Ceremony website for the designated subject discipline colour of your programme/hood.

What is a full set of academic dress?

Based on the designated academic dress of the programme, a full set of academic dress consists of a gown, a hood (if applicable) and a mortarboard/bonnet (if applicable). Please refer to this page for the details of the academic dress for respective programmes.

When and where can I rent my academic dress?

If I cannot come in person to collect my academic dress, what should I do?

Please ask your representative to bring along the Rental Slip/ Waiver of Rental Fee of Academic Dress Voucher* and two copies of the Gown Rental & Deposit Form (you must make an online reservation in advance for rental of academic dress at the University's designated supplier (Victoria Uniform) to collect the items on your behalf. For details, please refer to this page.
*The rental slip or voucher is enclosed with the letter of Rental of Academic Dress.

Do I need to pay for my academic dress?

Do I need to present the TRUE copy of Rental Slip/ Waiver of Rental Fee of Academic Dress Voucher during my collection of Academic Dress?

You MUST present the TRUE copy of this rental slip/voucher stamped with the official chop of the University to Victoria Uniform when collecting the academic dress. A rental slip/voucher without the official chop of EdUHK will be regarded as invalid. Please note that a photocopy or digital copy of this rental slip/voucher will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
If you do not receive the voucher by 30 July 2022, please write to the Registry (gc@eduhk.hk) for make-up arrangement.

If the academic dress does not fit me, can I change it?

No change of size will be arranged once the academic dress is collected from the University's designated supplier, Victoria Uniform. Graduates can choose the size of academic dress at the business outlet of Victoria Uniform. Please refer to the Victoria Uniform's website for details.

If I have forgotten to collect my academic dress, are there any make-up arrangements on campus?

The University WILL NOT provide any academic dress to any graduates on campus. Academic dress must be collected from the University's designated supplier, Victoria Uniform at their designated business outlet in advance.

Do I need to wear the academic dress to attend the Virtual Graduation Ceremony?

If your Graduation Ceremony is conducted online, it is not necessary for you to wear the academic dress to attend the ceremony online. However, you could still rent the academic dress to take pictures with your family members, relatives and friends.

When should I return the academic dress or can I apply for late return?

You are required to return the academic dress to the University's designated supplier, Victoria Uniform within the first rental period, i.e. 180 days. A penalty charge will be levied for late return of academic dress after the stipulated period. Please refer to this page for details.
